Agents can use existing software
Huang has offered a counterargument to the idea that AI will eliminate enterprise software: agents may use more databases, design tools and other applications, not fewer.
CEO, Nvidia
Nvidia’s co-founder: graphics, accelerated computing and AI.
Why this speaker matters
A useful lens: AI needs both physical infrastructure and software that people can actually use.

Relevant context
Buying more Nvidia chips does not create a working data center on its own. The chips also need specialized memory, and the site needs a reliable electricity supply. Shortages can delay expansion or raise its cost. Grid upgrades bring in another question: how much should data-center operators pay, and how much might fall on other electricity customers?
Who they are
Jensen Huang co-founded Nvidia in 1993 with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem and has led it ever since. Trained as an electrical engineer at Oregon State and Stanford, he previously worked at AMD and LSI Logic. Nvidia began with 3D graphics for games; its CUDA architecture, unveiled in 2006, opened GPUs to scientific and general-purpose parallel computing. Those processors later powered the breakthrough AlexNet neural network in 2012.
What they are working on
That history spans consumer graphics, scientific research and AI. Nvidia’s current Vera Rubin platform combines processors, networking and software for large AI systems. Huang’s work connects hardware, the developers who program it and the applications it enables.
Some people say that the enterprise IT software industry is going to get destroyed. Let me give you the alternative view. The enterprise software industry is limited by butts and seeds. It's about to get a hundred times more agents banging on those tools. There are going to be agents banging on SQL, there are going to be agents banging on vector databases, agents banging on Blender, agents banging on Photoshop, and the reason for that is because those tools, first of all, do a very good job. Second, those tools are the conduit between us. In the final analysis, when the work is done, it has to be represented back to me in a way that I can control. And I know how to control those tools.Jensen Huang LIVE: Nvidia's Future, Physical AI, Rise of the Agent, Inference Explosion, AI PR Crisis ↗

Yeah, so my understanding of HBM stands for high bandwidth memory. Again, this is part of the GPUs that go in the data center to run AI is that you take the DRAM wafer or die and you actually stack them. And so I think HBM 3 is like 8, it's stacked 8 dies high, but now they're increasing to 12 and even 16 And to basically stack them and then package them all together, that's an advanced technology in and of itself. So you're seeing now, like Gavin's saying, there's only 3 companies that can do it. But also this is creating significant price pressure for all the consumer electronics businesses. Apple had huge news today where they announced massive price increases. And again, it's because DRAM now is less available because it's just being hoovered up by all the data centers.Socialists Sweep NYC, China Catches Up in Coding, AI Memory Crunch, Micron's Blowout Quarter ↗

The green stuff can't scale in the short term. It's all gas-powered for the new data centers. That's the only way to get the amount of scale that you need in the next year or two. But in any event, look, I think...Anthropic's $2T IPO, Zuck's AI Manifesto, Nvidia's $500B AI Bet, Grok's Comeback ↗

The problem is that the data centers are only part of the problem. The reality is that we have a whole new way of living that is drawing more and more electrons. We are at a shortage for what we need. The reaction of the utilities is to now build, which is the right reaction. The problem is that for the last 20 years, they've been under building. So as they catch up, even if you have the data centers that are willing to pay their fair share, rates will still go up.Iran's Breaking Point, Trump's Greenland Acquisition, and Solving Energy Costs ↗
